Moving Metal wind sculptures, metal owls, and much more creative metal art in Victoria B.C.

   Lots of amazing work coming out of the workshop in the last 2 weeks. Metal Mermaid Welder Karen Lancey has been very busy!
   A crazy creative creature time and experimenting with fun moving pieces that are based on wind power. The 2 new wind pieces need only a small amount of wind to get the tall metal stands swaying to touch each other and make gentle chiming sounds. One of the kenetic pieces is based on wind moving the 'sails' into the other pieces, the second has so many tall pieces with various additions that with a small amount of wind they come into contact with each other.
   Next my focus was creating metal owls, a much asked for item. I consider both pieces my prototypes of more to come. Getting the realism, the free standing stance, and even a turning head on one was all very fun and challenging with what parts I had on hand. I now need more specific parts to make the process swifter so I can keep my usual low prices in place. Another crow arch, a 5 foot mermaid and two buzzards, one with a moving head were the rest of the main projects.
   No fishing this week, I have been buying koi lately so always make time to relax by the pond every day!
