Copper Mermaid

   I now have a whole new respect for construction workers working outside in cold winter weather. But to have cold winter weather here in Victoria, really?! Wool socks and 6 layers later, barely able to move, I made may way to the shop and pulled up the garage door, opened the back door, and turned my ventilation fan on. It is either a curse or a blessing that I am recently home from sunny Florida. As I work and slowly freeze I remember how amazing my holiday was, and it is either helping me forget the fact that I cannot feel my feet, or it is pissing me off that if I was in fact in Florida I would be able to feel my feet, embedded in the sand, while warm breezes gently blow the palm trees!
   Life size metal mermaid done last week with highlights of copper scales and even pennies. Also finished the big 3 foot fish started the previous week. Looking forward to warmer weather next week, a metal delivery, and Camosun College fine art student helping out in the shop. Last pic is the lagoon at Royal Roads, frozen, unbelievable!
